I am spending the day with my friend and great artist Geraldine Erman who is making great 3D for the Web: myvernacular.posterous.com.
Our plan for the day was for Deenie to teach me javascript and I would teach her CSS. We haven’t done much of that but we have looked at a lot of things and she has inspired me.
saw this grid today by Leanne Shapton and a grid like this with a fragment of my eye may be the solution for my migraine series – at least the screen version.

Chrismarker.org is an randomly-compiled, taxonomically naive and hopefully useful archive of ruminations, bibliographic & filmographic notations, untimely meditations, mnemonic minutiae and other glosses on the cinematic, written, photographic and multimedia work of world-citizen & time-traveler Chris Marker – the “mercurial international man of semiotic mystery.”
Today I found myself led to Electronic Arts Intermix eai.org which is putting up its incredible archive of video art and also making public a A Kinetic Art: The EAI Archives Online . In searching their catalogue, I found many Chris Marker films that I have not seen and NEED TO: Immemory, a 1997 CD-ROM, and Prime Time in the Camps , 1993.

Yvonne Rainer‘s first film, Hand Movie, was shot by fellow dancer William Davis when Rainer was confined to a hospital bed, recovering from major surgery and unable to dance. The resulting five minutes of footage is a sustained close-up shot of Rainer’s hand against a grey background as it stretches and contracts, bends and points, performing the kinds of everyday, quotidian movements that characterize her pioneering minimalist choreography. watch on ubweb.
With keeping up with all my class blogs and continuing to improve my web skills, I have not posted for awhile. Had a fantastic studio visit with Barbara and she encouraged me to put larger single images of my migraine images which i did and am excited about this. She also showed me Philip Guston’s heads which i did not associate with my work but…
